Purple Prom Dresses
The purple family in our 2027 prom collection is really two collections sharing a name. Most of the wall is the pastel side — lavender and lilac, the soft, romantic shades that have owned recent prom seasons — while the deep side runs violet, amethyst and eggplant for anyone who wants the color at full evening strength. Styles come from Dave & Johnny, Ladivine, Andrea & Leo and AMORIS across ball-gown, A-line, fitted and short cuts, with extended sizes on select gowns. Every dress ships nationwide, and in-house alterations are available by appointment at our Oconomowoc, Wisconsin boutique.

Lavender, Lilac or Deep Violet
Lavender and lilac are the daylight shades of this family — soft enough to photograph like a watercolor at golden hour, and natural partners for silver jewelry and beaded tulle. If most of your night happens under dim ballroom light, consider stepping deeper: violet, amethyst and eggplant hold their saturation where pastels can wash toward gray, and they read unmistakably formal. The middle ground — true purples and orchid tones — gives you color that reads clearly in every light without committing to either extreme. Many silhouettes here are cut in several shades of the family; the swatches on each product card show the full run.
Styling the Purple Family
Silver is purple’s metal — it cools the pastels beautifully and gives the deep shades an evening edge — though rose gold plays warmly against lilac if your coloring runs warm. Keep competing colors out of the look: nude or metallic shoes, and a date’s accent tie matched to your exact colorway name from the product page. Fit follows each designer’s own chart — measure bust, waist and hips against it, order up between sizes, and leave alteration time before photos. Select styles run in extended sizes; the size filter shows exactly which. Everything ships nationwide, with fittings by appointment at the boutique: (888) 450-6525.
Questions shoppers ask us
Is lavender or deep purple better for prom photos?
Depends on the light. Lavender glows in daylight and bright venues; deep violet and eggplant hold their color in dim ballrooms where pastels can fade. Ask where your photos will actually happen.
What accessories go with a purple prom dress?
Silver first — it suits both the pastel and jewel ends of the family. Keep shoes nude or metallic and jewelry in one metal so the color stays the headline.
Do purple prom dresses come in extended sizes?
Select styles are cut in extended sizes — filter by your size to see which gowns come in it, with live stock per size on every product page.
